Every June, Puratos Grand-Place Vietnam is proud to organize the Chocolate Bonus Event across the Central Highlands, Southeast Region, and Mekong Delta, bringing together purchasing partners and farmers from the Cacao-Trace community.

This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as it marks the 10th anniversary of the Chocolate Bonus program worldwide. Over the past decade, €13.5 million has been distributed through the Next Generation Cacao Foundation, creating positive impact for farming communities around the world.

  • In Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda, the Foundation has supported nearly 39,000 children in accessing education, funded 34 educational infrastructure projects, 255 clean water systems, and 3 healthcare initiatives.
  • In Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, and Vietnam, Chocolate Bonus is distributed directly to farmers in cash, based on the volume of cocoa beans they supply for the production of premium chocolate.

In Vietnam, a total of €204,933 was distributed in 2026 to 1,540 farmers, under the independent supervision of Deloitte. Alongside the bonus distribution, farmers also participated in technical training sessions covering pest management, pruning techniques, and the responsible use of crop protection products, helping strengthen farming capabilities and support the development of sustainable cocoa-growing regions.

The cocoa industry continues to show encouraging progress, with this year’s Chocolate Bonus doubling compared to the previous year. This reflects the dedication of farmers in improving both productivity and bean quality, while reinforcing Puratos Grand-Place Vietnam’s long-term commitment to building a fair, transparent, and sustainable cacao value chain.
