Sustainable Cocoa Sourcing
Chocolate’s future depends on a sustainable supply chain
Chocolate has been cherished for thousands of years, and those who love its flavour and taste are consuming more and more. Yet despite chocolate’s growing popularity, environmental, social and economic challenges prevent many cocoa farmers from achieving sustainable livings.

Cacao-Trace answers directly to the need for a more sustainable and transparent cocoa supply chain. Its uniquely holistic combination of environmental, financial and human-centered initiatives is designed to improve the lives and practices of cocoa farmers. Cacao-Trace’s emphasis on quality, education and training empowers farmers to elevate their skills to become even more productive and sustainable, ensuring that chocolate will be enjoyed for generations to come.

Chocolate producers and consumers alike can be assured that Cacao-Trace stands for quality, traceable, sustainable cocoa beans. Continuous improvement is embedded into the program and validated through independent, third-party audits.
Vertical Integration
Following Cacao-Trace program, Puratos Grand-Place has built the vertical integration model, we work closely with cocoa farmers within their communities to ensure the highest quality of the cocoa. Our teams are on the ground, sharing our expertise on good farming practices that promote productivity, environmental protection and quality. The farmers are paid fair prices for their fruits and in return, we get top quality cocoa.
With the opening Cocoa Collection and Fermentation Plant and the Cocoa Development Center, we have the  best control in the whole process from bean collection, fermentation, drying and packaging. This helps to guarantee consistent quality.
